Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is looking to recruit a polite, helpful and tactful individual, with the ability to multi-task to help provide a comprehensive car parking and security service to the hospital and satellite sites in all weather and conditions.

You will have a great deal of contact with staff, visitors and members of the public, directing drivers to car parking spaces, clearing entrances for fire calls, responding to all security issues, answering general enquiries and enforcing the Trust Car Parking Policy.

Ideally, the successful person will be tactful and firm whilst remaining calm under pressure, you will have a flexible approach to working and covering duties including shift patterns annual leave and sickness.

Main duties of the job

The Security / Parking Team provide a comprehensive car park and security service to the main hospital site - Basildon and satellite sites such as Orsett in all weather and conditions.

In this front line service you will need to be polite, helpful, tactful but firm and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

If successful, you will have a great deal of contact with staff, visitors and members of the public, directing drivers to car parking spaces, clearing entrances for fire calls, responding to all security issues and answering general enquiries from our patients and visitors; so, good communication skills and a flexible approach are essential.
