Job summary
The Trauma and Orthopedic team at Basildon Hospital are looking for a dynamic, motivated and experienced individual who has an passion for orthopaedic and trauma nursing to help work within our friendly team.
You will work within our Trauma team to provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, taking the lead, acting as a role model and supporting the service in driving quality care provision forward.
You will play a major role in coordinating the care of Trauma patients by managing patients from admission via the Emergency Dept, clinics and wards, monitoring and developing Trauma pathways and supporting the inpatient clinical teams in delivering best practice care to those with a traumatic injury.
This role is on a permanent full time basis.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team to lead, develop and maintain our Trauma Service and Virtual Fracture Clinic taking referrals from the Emergency Department, GPs, consultants, nurses, from fracture trauma lists and our fracture clinic. You will be expected to maintain the Trauma service and work autonomously in a nurse led Virtual Fracture Clinic.
Working with the Senior Team you will be instrumental in developing our service ensuring that patients who engage with the service receive the highest possible standard of care delivery.
Experience in the area of Orthopaedics / Trauma nursing is essential. We have a strong commitment to the personal and professional development of our staff and the successful candidate will be expected to develop the team through support, individual appraisal, mentorship and clinical supervision. - Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in ( appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to degree / masters level equivalent FHEQ Level 6 /7
