Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Application Support Analyst within the Digital Services Department. Reporting to the Test Team Manager the Application Support Analyst will be liaising with Digital Systems Owners for for a number of application systems, representing these Digital services across the Trust.

As a key part of a dynamic and evolving service department the Application Support Analyst will have a strong customer focus, sharing in the ownership of the complete life cycle of the supported applications, including supporting any user acceptance testing requirements.

Experience of system configuration and involvement in upgrades is essential to the role.

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust was established on 1stApril 2020 following the merger between Basildon & Thurrock Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital NHS Trust and Southend University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust is undertaking an ambitious programme of work to migrate all clinical and corporate IT applications in use across the organisation onto supported technical platforms.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Test Team Manager the Application Support Analyst is the Digital Service Owner for a number of application systems, representing these Digital services across the Trust and responsible for the day-to-day management of those services. As a key part of a dynamic and evolving service department the Application Support Analyst will have a strong customer focus, sharing in the ownership of the complete life cycle of the supported applications.

The Application Support Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Information Asset Owners (IAOs), Administrators (IAAs), and Super Users of Trust Directorates to assist them in managing and using application systems in the delivery of their business functions.

To fully support the IT Service Desk in the resolution of incidents, problem investigations and fulfilment of service requests liaising with 3rd party suppliers as necessary. To act as the point of escalation (notification) for major incidents, service failures or customer complaint regarding the digital services supported and responsible for updating relevant digital management leads and on-going customer liaison until resolution.The ability to show tact and empathy to Trust staff facing difficult situations is required. Experience of system configuration and involvement in upgrades is essential to the role.
