Job summary

This is a first class opportunity to Join our Stroke service as a Specialty Doctor undertaking clinical assessments of suspected stroke or TIA adult patients referred as an emergency to hospital or in an out-patient setting.

You will be expected to show qualities of leadership but also to know your limitations and call for help and advice appropriately, to work independently with close support from Consultant, liaise between nurses, junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical and to attend to the day to day management of day cases, out-patients and in-patients and participate in ward rounds as timetabled.

You will recruit in multi-centertrials of stroke as an independent recruiter and able to design and help existing research projects, have opportunities to contribute to the development of a stroke service and provide leadership to such a service.

Undertake teaching and training of stroke related topics for medical undergraduates, post-graduates and other healthcare professionals

Main duties of the job

You role will involve attending general and specialist out-patient and diagnostic clinics, teach medical students, supervise, monitor and assist the junior, take part in rostered emergency work, keep up-to date with all administrative duties including letters, results and discharge summaries as required and attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary

You will promote interdisciplinary working between relevant hospital based, develop clinical and managerial.

Your post will consist of 10 programmed activities, your timetable will be subject to review and agreement with the post holder and Clinical lead and the job plan will incorporate ward work, day assessment unit work and Outpatient clinics.
