Job summary

Edith Cavell Ward, a Medicine Ward dedicated to the treatment of Gastroenterological related illnesses, has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join its warm and friendly team.

Our Ward is a great place to gain or expand your knowledge, skills and experience of nursing acutely unwell patients within a supportive team environment and to assist in achieving this objective of maintaining the goodwill and confidence of its own staff and of the general public, it is essential that at all times, employees carry out their duties in a courteous and sympathetic manner.Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified nurses.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to work with the senior sister and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care and staff development as part of the ward team where you will be supported in developing and maintaining good ward management and organisational skills.

You will assist with the provision of an environment conducive to the education of staff and providing and maintaining the highest possible standards of good nursing care.
