Job summary
The Main Outpatients department is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Registered Nurse. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to put the patient at the heart of everything we do, making the beginning of the patient journey as smooth and reassuring as possible, working to a consistently high standard in a variety of medical and surgical clinics. You will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the department to provide a seamless service & high quality care to patients.
The Registered Nurse is expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the department. Working collaboratively as part of the department team is essential.
Current wound management skills are essential to this post.
It is expected that the Registered Nurse will continue to develop their own capabilities and knowledge of nursing tasks in line with the Trusts career pathway.
This role is permanent full-time 37.5 hours per week, over 4 days, Monday -Friday.
Main duties of the job
- To work as part of the multidisciplinary team providing a seamless service and high quality care to patients attending clinics in the Main Outpatients Department. You will be chaperoning and assisting patients and clinicians during examinations and investigative procedures.
- We provide wound management services to patients in a variety of clinics, so this is a key skill essential to this post.
- You will ensure the smooth running of clinics by monitoring patient flow using computer systems and patient notes and liaise with all members of the team to ensure any delays to the flow of clinic are managed and patients are kept informed.
- You will be expected to act as team leader including taking charge of the department in the absence of the Nurse Manager/Deputy.
- You will be expected to attend satellite clinics off site as dictated by service needs
