Job summary
We are currently looking for an experienced Audit and Quality Control Manager to join our Maternity team here at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE).
In this role you will work alongside our Lead Midwife for Maternity Safety to achieve strategic and operational delivery of a challenging quality improvement agenda across Maternity Services.
You will be an effective ambassador for the Trust, be credible and knowledgeable with the confidence and interpersonal skills to support staff at all levels across maternity services and the wider organisation.

Main duties of the job
If successful, you will be responsible for ensuring that a robust audit programme is in place including audits that are undertaken for quality improvement, national and local audits and responsive audits to Incidents / serious incidents to ensure compliance and learning from incidents and working collaboratively with other managers to deliver a variety of service improvement projects including NHS Resolutions Maternity Incentive Schemes.

- Champion and promote quality as a key focus within maternity services and across the health system to improve clinical productivity and effectiveness.
- Lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of quality standard systems using a multidisciplinary approach
- Provide leadership, expert advice and resource on quality improvement methodology and delivery
- Ensure that the maternity quality and safety program is fully integrated with all relevant Trust programmes and initiatives.
- Provide expert advice to senior clinicians/managers on the successful delivery of small- and large-scale change projects.
- Advise on the criteria for approving and prioritising projects and eliminating those that do not support the trusts quality/safety objectives.
- Ensure that all quality improvement projects within the remit of the role are delivered efficiently, escalating any risks or concerns to the Lead Midwife for Clinical Governance to ensure delivery of objectives on time and within the defined resource allocation.
