Job summary

An exciting and rare opportunity has recently arisen for an experienced and forward thinking senior nurse to join as the Associate Director of Nursing for Local services.

This is a key role, working alongside the Deputy Director of Nursing for Local services, you will provide high quality strategic, professional, operational and visible nursing leadership, advising and supporting on divisional nursing issues.

Main duties of the job

The Associate Director of Nursing (ADoN), as part of the Division Triumvirate, is responsible and accountable for the development and delivery of patient services within local services. The ADoN will have responsibility for leading the development of nursing within the Division ensuring that the highest standard of patient care is delivered supported by a robust clinical governance framework.The ADoN will provide high profile leadership and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and high quality patient care , underpinned by robust systems for planning, service delivery and performance management. The post holder will provide line management and professional leadership to all of the relevant ward and clinic nurse managers and to ensure appropriate line management and professional leadership arrangements for the relevant nurse specialists.In partnership with the Clinical Director and the General Manager, they are responsible for operational and strategic leadership and will lead improvements in care, service delivery and the achievement of organisational priorities for the Division.

The ADoN will provide quality improvement leadership across the division, using relevant data, information and feedback from patients and their families and carers to identify areas for improvement. Use service improvement methodologies to drive change and work with staff, patients and families ensuring relevant stakeholders are actively involved in the change.
