Job summary

We have an excellent opportunity for 4 Band 6 Radiographers to join our friendly and supportive team!

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the relevant team leader in the day to day management of patient flow, assisting in the organisation and the management of the clinical workload.

We have 4 Elekta linear accelerators including Versa HD which enhances our ability to provide high quality Radiotherapy and facilitate the delivery of Stereotactic treatment. All machines are utilised to deliver VMAT/IMRT with XVI imaging. We have recently had a new Linac installed and we are expecting to use this clinically by late SummerWe have an active HDR Brachytherapy program, treating Prostate, Skin, and Gynecological cancers. The Brachytherapy suite includes a small ops theatre with recovery area situated within the Radiotherapy department. Treatments are delivered using the HDR Microselectron featuring 30 transfer tubes.

Patients are localised using our new brand Canon CT scanner which has been clinical since June 2022.

Planning software includes; Prosoma VSS, Xio, Monaco and Oncentra Brachy.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the relevant team leader in the day to day management of patient flow, assisting in the organisation and the management of the clinical workload.
  • To provide high quality individualised treatment and care to all patients.
  • To act with integrity and professionalism at all times and to act as a role model to junior staff members and students.
  • The post is competency driven and can be rotational through all areas of the department (CT, pretreatment checking, treatment and Brachytherapy) or you may wish to specialise depending on yourinterests and experience.
  • Have a flexible approach to work. Work shifts or extended hours to meet capacity and demand.
  • Participate in the departmental on-call rota and when necessary work weekends and Bank holidays to meet gap management needs
