We are recruiting for 3 IT Apprentices to join our teams across Southend, Broomfield and Basildon Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

As an apprentice for the Mid & South Essex (MSE) Hospital Group you will be exposed to an exciting digital environment working with market leading technologies. This environment will allow you to develop your skillset and provide ample opportunity to learn from experience.

As a MSE Apprentice, you will fully commit to the 20% off-the-job training requirements of the post alongside your normal day-to-day job. The post holder will complete a course of study and/or all learning and development requirements of the role. As a MSE Apprentice, you will use the support on offer to maximise the benefits to your professional development. You will have the opportunity to participate in a supportive environment to develop the behaviours, knowledge and professional skills required of the role and the team. You will commit to your professional development plan, set out at the beginning of your Apprenticeship. MSE Apprentices are expected to take ownership of the tasks & projects set out by their line manager. Apprentices understand the importance of managing both professional and learning responsibilities.

Apprentices will be supported throughout the fixed term period with an inclusive training plan and associated accreditation to ensure upon completion the individual is equipped with sufficient knowledge, experience and qualifications to apply for a junior Desktop Support position subject to availability.

  • To promote the role of the Information Technology Department within the Trust when dealing with other Trust Directorates and outside organisations.
  • To provide customer support and advice on behalf of other members of the IT department.
