An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team.

This post is full time fixed term (and/or as a secondment) as a Project Manager in the strategy unit.

As a Project Manager, you will be required to lead and manage. The post holder is expected to manage the day-to-day delivery of the research strategy development and then help embed it in local work plans. The second aspect of this role will be, under the guidance of the Programme Manager, deliver projects supporting MSEFT becoming an equitable organisation though the health inequalities programme.

Strategy Unit provides a source of support and diagnosis to our hospitals, helps secure the best value from external consultancy, and develops robust strategic insight analysis and evaluation capability across our organisations. The team also pursues other strategic partnerships beneficial to our patients, such as in community engagement, co-production and healthcare innovation. The team enables engagement with partner organisations both locally and regionally/nationally. The Strategy Unit continues to respond to local needs for further exploration and evidence reviews for new and existing transformational work with hospital sites, and support site leadership teams. The Unit builds upon the talent we already have in-house, enabling our plan to be an organisation that is continuously improving, leading new models of care for better patient care, better value and population health benefit.

Main duties of the job

Mid and South Essex NHS FT is a newly merged trust with the below strategic goals guiding us over the next 3 years:

The Strategy Unit is the team that supported the development of the above organisational strategic goals and is routinely involved in strategic programmes, supporting the Board and Executive like research strategy development.

This research strategy for MSE will help us explore the untapped potential our services and researchers can offer that will not only benefit our local population of 1.2 million but wider patient groups. Dedicated resource is required to work across partners to support delivery of this strategy and make sure it is launched, embedded and built into work plans

This role will support development of this research strategy for mid and south Essex and also support the programme manager with delivery of some of our award-winning health inequalities projects thus making short as well as long term impact on health and care of the local population and providing opportunities for MSE staff to be research-active, innovate, improve and grow.
