Clinical Engineering is based at Bradford Royal Infirmary responsible for trust wide management of medical devices. The successful applicant will undergo a three year period of supervised training to enable maintenance and repair of medical devices. The successful applicant will be required to complete a degree qualification in Clinical Engineering (fully funded by the Trust). Help and support will be given as well as adequate time for study in the workplace, however successful completion of the BSc in Clinical Engineering commencing September 2026 is an expected requirement.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a member of a team providing Clinical Engineering Services for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and other Locations.Safety and good working practices are an essential component to the duties which are extremely specialised and non-routine and demand a high level of responsibility and independent judgement.
The Clinical Engineering service is working within a quality system ISO9001
JOB DIMENSIONS
o Planned preventive maintenance and calibration of a wide range of equipment.
o Planning and prioritising of own workloads allocated by the Team Leaders.
o Working in the close proximity to patients most days.
o Ability to work on heavy pieces of equipment where physical effort could be demanded.
o Fault finding and repair on complex medical equipment.
Applications are encouraged from those currently in full time education and working towards A level or equivalent qualifications. The requirements are for applicants to either hold prior to appointment, or be expected to achieve, three A levels, grades A-C including Maths and a Science, ideally Physics or Biology or an equivalent level three qualification.
