Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Part time NHS Locum
Consultant colleague to the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery based
at St Lukes Hospital Bradford. The post is for a fixed 1-year period with a
possibility of extension. The post holder will be expected to have a broad
experience of the specialty of Oral surgery. This will be a 5.5 PA job plan.
Experience of teaching both under graduates and post
graduates would be an advantage. Applicants must be fully registered with the GDC,
fit to practice and able to demonstrate that they have the required broad-based
training, experience and knowledge for the post.
Main duties of the job
The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a Consultant's duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. The post holder will provide clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. this includes clinics and operating sessions.

All Out-patient clinics are held at St Lukes Hospital. All in-patients are admitted to ward 18 at BRI site. The ward is shared with Urology, ENT and ophthalmology. The Day case Theatre activity will be at the Day case theatres on the SLH site.The post-holder is managerially accountable to The Divisional Clinical Director of surgery CBU. The candidate is professionally accountable to the Medical Director at BTHFT.
The appointee will be expected to participate in the monthly clinical governance and business meetings and will be encouraged to take on trainees as an AES, for which additional PAs can be made available.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GDC, fit to practice and able to demonstrate that they have the required broad-based training, experience and knowledge for the post.
