We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic Community Research Assistant to take a key role in the the BiBBS ACHIEVE study within the Born in Bradford (BiB) programme (www.borninbradford.nhs.uk).
BiBBS ACHIEVE builds upon the Born in Bradford's Better Start (BiBBS) birth cohort, which has followed over 5000 families living Bradford, since 2016. This new phase aims to enhance our understanding of children's health, wellbeing, and educational development in middle childhood, capturing how recent systemic shocks, such as the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis, have shaped their lives, and how existing early interventions can be adapted to reduce inequalities. This is an exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of this unique research programme which really makes a difference to the health and lives of children and families.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as part of the wider BiBBS team to collect data in schools and other community settings. They will work with children and their families. The data collected will contribute towards the understanding and improving the health and wellbeing of families in Bradford, nationally and internationally. The findings from studies will be used to influence policy makers, health professionals and educationalists and help them improve service provision.
You will have experience of working with children and families in a community/health setting and. You will be organised and able to work under your own initiative to meet tight deadlines as well as having an approachable and friendly manner. We are specifically seeking someone who speaks a Central/Eastern European language.
