We are recruiting for a Materials Management Assistant to join our friendly team of Nurses, Radiographers, Radiologists and other support staff in the busy and dynamic Radiology Department across Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the ordering of stock including specialised items for use in radiology intervention procedures and ensuring that all necessary equipment is accessible.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role due to working with a multidisciplinary team and stakeholders from across and outside of the trust. Necessary duties will be to maintain and take part in departmental stock control and rotation as well as ordering items in.
They will have a close working relationship with the procurement team and company representatives and highlight any shortfall in items and problems with supply in a timely fashion.
The post holder will be responsible for helping to clean and decontaminate equipment in line with infection control and health and safety policies and keeping the stock room organised.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual that is able to use their own initiative and work to strict deadlines to join our team.
The post holder will be involved in the day to day provision of the Materials Management Service and maintain and order stock levels for the main radiology department including the intervention service . (This includes Cardiology Cath Lab, Vascular and Intervention as well as the main radiology departments at BRI and SLH).
This includes:
- Distribution of stock to the clinical areas from Top-Up Locations
- Raise orders for all items on agreed stock lists to replenish to agreed levels
- Other ad-hoc requisitioning
- Reviews for maximum and minimum levels
- Bar-code maintenance
- Return of goods
- Liaising with reps and nursing team to ensure stock continuity
Whilst time will be spent checking stocks, the post holder will utilise their office time to raise orders, run reports, source alternatives, expedite orders and assist colleagues. They will also need to assist in the rooms if time allows or staffing levels require it.
