This is a varied post providing the role of admin support to the Dietetic Team.

The successful candidate will be based in the Dietetic Office in St Luke's Hospital but may also occasionally be based at Bradford Royal Infirmary

Experience/Skills/Qualifications required:

  • Appropriate administrative/secretarial experience.
  • Minute taking.
  • Diary / time Management.
  • Comprehensive organisational Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal ,team working and communication skills
  • Good written and numerical skills
  • Experience of working with patients in the health care setting

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work the hours over 5 days and provide admin cover for the Dietetic team managing general office tasks , managing and processing new referrals , sending out patient information/education literature, managing waiting lists, answering telephones and escalating messages or issues to the team.

  1. To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Dietetic Team based within the one team but may cover across the other teams if required
  2. To liaise with other agencies as directed by Dietetic Team members
  3. To undertake the typing of letters, reports and other documents
  4. To undertake the updating of patient information databases and patient hospitals systems such as EPR and system1.
  5. To take and receive phone calls to and from other agencies and patients
  6. To undertake the copying, collation and distribution of documents internally and externally
  7. To undertake electronic filing of patient records and documentation and other documents
  8. To arrange meetings and take minutes.
  9. Send reminder appointment texts to patients

  • Significant recent dietetic office administration/secretarial experience

Desirable

  • Working experience/detailed knowledge of developing new spreadsheets for the service, inputting to existing spreadsheets, data input , running data reports from patient databases, word processing, and power point presentations, presentation/layout skills for education resources
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Experience of NHS/Dietetic patient systems, EPR, SystmOne, Clinical Manager including for scheduling and managing waiting lists
