We are looking to recruit a Head of Estates Maintenance, who will be responsible for the professional and managerial services standards delivery of the BTHFT technical services relating to the Estates operational service.

The post holder will develop and maintain BTHFT's estates and governance by conforming to all statutory legislation and regulations and to deliver the BTHFT capital investment program and those of the BTHFT business interest in accordance with relevant service level agreements (SLAs), statutory, NHS and BTHFT guidelines.

The post holder will support the business development of BTHFT technical estates service to support the BTHFT commercial strategy and business plans.

Main duties of the job

BTHFT will provide technical estates services in accordance with the relevant SLAs and associated key performance indicators (KPIs) to BTHFT owned properties, namely:

Bradford Royal Infirmary

St Luke's Hospital

Daisy Bank

Macular Centre

This may extend to other sites where BTHFT may have a business interest or as stipulated within the relevant SLA.

The post holder will be responsible for a budget of approximately £3.8 million and a staff complement of 47.9 WTE broken down as follows:

Estates Managers - 4 WTE

Team leaders/Chargehand technicians - 7 WTE

Trades staff - 28.4 WTE

Grounds & Gardens staff - 8.5 WTE

The post holder will be responsible for providing a cost effective professional building services engineering and estate management service, and shall identify and lead with the support of the Estates team, the future development and maintenance of the organisation's built environment, to the highest standards and value available to the NHS

The post holder must liaise with and effectively communicate with appropriate levels of staff throughout the Foundation Trust, and interface with private professional consultants and contractors.
