Catering Stores Person (30hrs per week)

Join our Patient Catering Team as our new Catering Stores Person.

Work as a member of the catering team, with responsibility for ensuring provisions are received and distributed to wards and departments on a daily basis.

Ensure that all main catering stores at SLH are maintained in a clean and tidy manner in line with food hygiene legislation.

Work within well established procedures, but having the ability to use own initiative on routine matters.

Main duties of the job

  • Meet delivery drivers and check contents of all deliveries, to ensure that all products ordered are received and that products are delivered at the appropriate temperature as specified within HACCP plan and all items in a suitable condition. Ensure that delivery notes are completed.
  • Set up for picking and packing at allocated times throughout the day.
  • Notify duty supervisor to inform them of any short deliveries or queries with the order.
  • Ensure all stock received is moved to correct store within timeframe outlined in HACCP procedure and rotated correctly according to use by dates. Carry out regular stock takes, and inform ordering clerk of which orders need placing.
  • Undertake daily checks of store areas, ensuring that they are clean, tidy and free from pests and report any concerns to duty supervisor.
  • Undertake daily checks of temperatures of all refrigerators and freezers to ensure that they are running at the correct temperature as specified within HACCP procedure and complete the appropriate temperature recording sheet to confirm checks have been undertaken.
  • Report any fridges not running at correct temperature to duty supervisor.
  • Undertake cleaning duties of main kitchen and store areas in line with schedules and complete cleaning check sheet to confirm this has happened.
  • Any other such duties at a comparable level of responsibility, as may normally be agreed with the job holder.
