Job summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trust Grade Doctor with a strong interest in Emergency Medicine to join our team at Bradford Royal Infirmary. This role is specifically designed for doctors who wish to pursue a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in Emergency Medicine. You will gain structured training, exposure to all aspects of emergency care, and support in fulfilling the GMC requirements for CESR.

Job responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in the Emergency Department under consultant supervision.

  • Actively participate in clinical decision-making and patient management, including resuscitation and trauma care.

  • Work within the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.

  • Maintain an up-to-date portfolio aligned with CESR requirements, including workplace-based assessments.

  • Engage in teaching and supervision of junior doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.

  • Contribute to departmental audits, research, and service development initiatives.

  • Participate in the departmental clinical governance programme, including morbidity and mortality meetings.

  • Work a full shift pattern, including nights and weekends, as per departmental rota.

  • Minimum of four years (FTE or equivalent) postgraduate training in the UK (or equivalent EEA training) of which at least 2 years training must be in the relevant specialty or a recognised equivalent training
  • Applicant knowledge is up to date and is fit to practise safely
