Working as a key member of the team alongside the Aseptic Unit Management and Quality Assurance teams you will play a major role in the day to day running and development of the service and provision of safe, effective, injectable medicines for a wide range of patients including premature babies and cancer patients. The post holder will assist in outsourcing of chemotherapy and CIVAS products and will support managing and further developing this service. In addition, the post holder will have the opportunity after training to rotate into our Radiopharmacy department on an ad hoc basis for assisting in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be involved in:
Day-to-day management of outsourced chemotherapy and aseptic CIVAS products including parental nutrition.
Day-to-day organization and planning of the workload within the aseptic unit.
Assist in the preparation / making of aseptic and cytotoxic medicines.
On occasions be the designated coordinator within the unit and office.
Assist with training and supervision of staff as and when required.
Assist the BTHFT QA department in undertaking (first) checks of unlicensed medicines.
Rotate into Radiopharmacy once trained and assist in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals.
Assist with maintenance of the department's Quality Assurance System.
To perform coordination duties within the office and aseptic unit.
To perform cleanroom supervision.
To assist in the preparation of aseptic and cytotoxic medicines.
In collaboration within the Production Manager and training coordinators, implement training.
To report on the progress of trainees to line managers and training coordinators.
To assist all staff retaining competence and preform validations at appropriate time intervals.
