After securing significantadditional funding, we are excited to have the opportunity to recruit a Team leader to support existing leadership within the service. We are seeking a leader who is experienced in staff management for our busy and supportive team of 21 staff in the Integrated Rehabilitation Team (previously Long Covid Team). This role would be 18.75 hours a perfect opportunity for someone looking for part time hours (0.5 WTE). Our current Team Lead has been in post for over 3 years and has a wealth of experience to support the right person in this role.
We are a forward thinking and innovative service which is reflected in the ethos of the team. With 5 years supporting Long Covid patients in a primarily group based, virtual format, we have built an experienced, supportive team leading the way in complex rehabilitation delivery. Including but not limited to Fatigue, Breathing Pattern Disorders, Stress, Pain, Symptoms of Dysautonomia and a very successful Vocational Rehabilitation offering. We are now expanding this offering of Vocational Rehabilitation to other long-term conditions to support people to remain in and return to work. We are seeking additional Team Leadership to support this growing service and team. The role will primarily be home based with regular clinic visits accross the patch.
Main duties of the job
This unique role will be a shared team lead position with responsibilities split between the successful candidate and the current team leader.
You will be responsible for the daily management of the team alongside the respective clinical leads, to ensure the effective functioning of a large team as well as optimising service delivery for effective and efficient patient care.
As a clinical team we currently provide a range of group-based interventions using a CBT style approach in the following areas: sleep, stress management, brain fog / cognition, fatigue management, remaining in work, returning to work, breathing pattern disorder, mindfulness for health, gentle movement, as well as weekly drop-in sessions for mindfulness and mindful movement. The team lead role involves attending service steering groups and chairing whole team meetings, managing staff absence and sickness, leading service change, supervision and managing waiting lists/times effectively considering staffing and the flow of patients through the service.
We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team leader/clinical specialist who is seeking a unique opportunity to be involved in the leadership of an ever-evolving service. The team are one of few in the country selected to support this work and you could be at the forefront of this symptom based, patient led service expansion.

The recent Darzi report and subsequent 10-year health plan highlights the NHS need to shift care closer to home, tilt towards technologically driven services and support the public back to work. As a team we are consistently striving to push forward our care delivery, and the use of technology to provide and evaluate patient care is heavily utilised. We welcome change and encourage a culture that allows staff members to contribute to this.
The successful candidate would support our existing team leader working as part of a large MDT including clinical specialists in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Speech and Language therapy and Long Covid Assessors. This enables us to think innovatively about how we meet the complex needs of our clients. We also have access to respiratory, cardiology and rehabilitation specialist consultants at regular MDT meetings.
We are looking to recruit a total of 0.5 WTE band 7 AHP Team Leader.
We would be keen to support secondments from other NHS organisations to provide opportunities for development across the local area and beyond. This role is currently until End of March 2026. There may be potential for this to be extended depending on future announcements. If you would like any further clarity, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Flexible working patterns and contracted hours will be considered for the role advertised and we would encourage you to discuss this on an individual basis.
With close links to Bradford University and system wide support across Bradford Teaching Hospitals, Bradford District Care Trust and Airedale NHS Foundation trust we can offer training opportunities that may be required to help meet the needs of this patient group.
