This post requires an experienced Breast Radiographer with additional advanced practice skills in Film Reading, Breast Ultrasound and Intervention, to work as part of the Pennine Breast team delivering a high quality patient service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an autonomous clinical practitioner working independently. They will be responsible for carrying out interventional procedures, breast ultrasound and film reading within the breast symptomatic and screening servic
They will be an expert in their area and part of the breast senior leadership team managing staff on a day to day basis when necessary.
Together with the Breast Radiology Consultants and Principal Superintendent, they will work to promote the service and develop policy and procedure, instigating and carrying out audit when appropriate.
The post holder will provide support, training, supervision and competency assess trainees, qualified Radiographers, and Registrars.
They will provide a consultancy and advisory function to the MDT utilising expert knowledge and skills. They will provide a teaching and education service to students, medical and nursing staff.
The post holder will be active on the rota to cover their own patient lists and provide planned and reactive cover for consultant lists when required.
