The Governance team, including the Legal Services Department, plays a key role in supporting our clinical staff in the Trust's ambition to be an outstanding provider of healthcare and a great place to work.

Working closely with our colleagues in Quality and Governance, and Patient Experience and Assurance, an exciting rolehas been developed to support the ambitions of the Trust's Legal Executive and the Associate Director of Quality. The post-holder will assist in providing effective, efficient claims handling within the Trust and strengthening the Trust's relationship with the local Coroner's office.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work with the Legal Services team to provide direct line-management support for day-to-day claims handling issues, along with deputising for the Trust's Legal Executive. Additional responsibilities include ensuring claims and inquests are dealt with in a professional & efficient manner and matters are escalated appropriately.

  • Excellent General knowledge of clinical/medical terminology.
  • Experience of working under pressure, meeting deadlines and ability to manage own workload.
