We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised researcher with a passion for patient safety and/or implementation science to join us at theBradford Institute for Health Research. We have a Band 6 Research Fellow post available within our Patient Safety Research Group. The successful applicant will have experience of conducting high quality, health-related qualitative and/or quantitative research. We are looking for candidates with previous work experience in research institutions (please note, this is not a clinical fellowship).
You will work as part of theDecluttering (Safely) for Safety theme across a range of projects exploring the de-implementation of low value patient safety practices. The programme is led by Professor Rebecca Lawton. Our team sits within the Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group (yqsr.org), which has an international reputation for collaboration across institutions and disciplines to deliver research that makes healthcare safer. Researchers and academics from the Universities of Leeds, York and Bradford team with clinicians and managers from Yorkshire and Humber, with the aim of making a real impact on health service delivery.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with team members under the supervision of senior researchers and/or programme managers to support the delivery of patient safety research programmes. You will be an integral part of the team contributing to study design, recruitment and data collection and analysis. You will help with administrative support, data management and obtaining necessary ethical and governance approvals. Other responsibilities might include literature searching, contributing to regular study updates, writing blogs to help promote the theme and our findings, writing publications and other dissemination activities. There is a strong focus on EDI and stakeholder engagement and impact. This makes the role an ideal position for those who are keen to build their networks, develop their expertise in safety science and deliver research that makes a difference to the safety of patients and their families and underrepresented groups. Support will be available from a Research Administrator. Mentorship and guidance will be provided by senior research colleagues.
