We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our large, friendly, multi-disciplinary Audiology team. The post is open to Audiology BSc/PTP students who are in the process of completing their final year.

The post-holder will participate in both the assessment and rehabilitation of adults with hearing difficulties and should have a thorough understanding of patient management systems and hearing aid technology. The department provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service to the population of Bradford and surrounding areas as well as supporting ENT clinic both at base within Bradford Royal Infirmary and at out-reach centres.

The department operates extended working hours enabling staff to work a 4 day week.

Main duties of the job

The Audiologist will autonomously undertake all routine audiological and rehabilitation procedures, including direct referrals for hearing aids and open access referrals from GPs, within outpatient, community and domiciliary environments.They will supervise assistant practitioners, apprentices and junior members of staff, and assist with the clinical supervision of BSc students.

Essential

  • BSc Audiology or equivalent, ie. BAAT I and II with BTEC Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement, or working towards attaining BSc in Audiology
  • RCCP/AHCS/HPCP Registration or pending
  • Supervision/Mentorship qualification

Desirable

  • Member of BSA/BAA
  • Hold a full driving licence and has access to a car
  • Sign Language Skills/Qualification

Experience

  • Working with the public
  • Working as a Band 4 or Band 5 Audiologist
