JOB PURPOSE
This is a great opportunity for someone to work in a close team with varied tasks within the dental laboratory and clinical setting. It will include booking work in and out, maintaining paper and digital records and keeping working areas clean and tidy and maintaining equipment. This role will require you to work in the various areas of the laboratory from construction of plaster and digital models to completing some technical processes such as trimming and polishing of appliances; under the supervision of a GDC registered member of staff. The post holder will chaperone in the clinical prosthetics clinic and assist with facial/body impressions.
JOB DIMENSIONS
Attend clinic with the Maxillofacial Prosthetist to assist with taking facial/bodily impressions to construct Maxillofacial Prosthesis. Complete dental processes and models for treatment planning or appliance construction
To assist in the control and maintenance of stock levels for laboratory materials and to maintain the operational standards of laboratory equipment and furnishings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Ability to manage and prioritise own workload efficiently.
Ability to work well in a team as well as on your own at times.
Have good word processing skills and be able to create and accurately maintain an MS Excel database.
Have a good level of manual dexterity with an eye for detail.
Display a friendly demeanour and have good communication skills.
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Assist the Maxillofacial prosthetist in their clinic.
Booking work in and out of the laboratory maintaining accurate digital and paper records where appropriate.
Produce working models (gypsum and 3d printed).
Plaster work/polishing, trimming as required.
Answering telephone calls and taking messages/actioning requests.
To assist in the control stock levels for laboratory materials and to maintain to a high level the operational standards of laboratory equipment and furnishings.
Keeping work areas clean and free of clutter
To maintain 100% Mandatory Training compliance.
To attend departmental and Inter-departmental meetings as required.

The jobholder must comply at all times with Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Health and Safety policies, in particular by following agreed safe local working procedures and reporting incidents using the Trusts Risk Incident Reporting System.

Infection Prevention and Control
