Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity in our Nutrition & Dietetic Department administration team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill this role, providing administration and systems support to our team of Dietitians.

The successful candidate will have a positive "can-do" approach, be able to work on their own initiative and take direction as appropriate, have excellent organisational, IT and communication skills both face to face and on the telephone. You will need to be confident, enthusiastic and eager to learn with experience of working in a busy office environment and dealing with conflicting demands. You will be an excellent team player and able to work well and flexibly as a member of the Dietetic administration support team and dietetic service.

Main duties of the job

You will have the ability to develop and use Excel Spreadsheets, understand and work with data from patient databases, schedule and managing waiting lists within this busy clinical department.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant recent office administration/secretarial experience
  • Working experience/detailed knowledge of developing new spreadsheets for the service, inputting to existing spreadsheets, data input , running data reports from patient databases, word processing, and powerpoint presentations, presentation/layout skills for education resources
  • Good computer file management skills

Desirable

  • Experience of NHS patient systems , e.g. EPR, SystmOne, Clinical Manager including for scheduling and managing waiting lists
  • Previous NHS experience

Skills

  • Good written skills, i.e. spelling and grammar
  • Ability to develop , participate and implement action plans to improve data processes /quality in line with service requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, team working and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work and have good time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively with Health care professionals and other services such as IT Informatics to resolve or improve clinic services in liaison with Admin service managers
