Rehabilitation Support Worker - Stroke and Neuro Rehab

Job summary

The Stroke Rehab Ward is an 18 bedded facility designed for stroke rehab patients. The unit is responsible for the assessment of patients that present with stroke and neurology symptoms and currently needing further therapy. We are looking to appoint an experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide rehab therapy and cares to rehab stroke patients.

We are looking for confident and caring candidates that are able to provide cares with dignity and compassion while supporting the patient through their recovery.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, hardworking, exhibit excellent standards in communication and will be expected to lead and deliver high quality evidence based care. They will possess the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

It is essential to hold experience as a rehab support worker and desirable to have transferable skills associated with the care and rehab of stroke patients

Good team work and communication skills are essential. Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop excellent interpersonal relationships.

All appointed Rehab Support Workers will need to hold NVQ 3 and complete set of competences to be able to work as RSW. Successful candidates will work as band 2 until then.

Main duties of the job

The team supports patients with the challenges of rehabilitation and work to achieve the optimum abilities of the patient for discharge. The successful candidate will have relevant experience of working within rehabilitation and healthcare setting and hold or be undertaking a relevant NVQ3 or equivalent.

Staff newly appointed into the service will be provided with a competence package and they will be supported and developed in this role to provide a first class service to our patients.
