Job summary

The Stroke Unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary is currently redesigning their structure to improve delivery of Hyper acute and acute stroke care to reach the national standards requirement and for that we are looking for dedicated and committed physician associates to take on this challenge.

The post is full time - 37.5 hours per week. Part time hours or flexible working options will be considered. The service will cover 8am - midnight 7 days per week and will operate on a shift basis.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit physician associates, with or without previous stroke experience to provide support to the medical team and lease directly with YAS and AED to be able to assess patients with possible diagnosis of stroke, request diagnostic tests, administer treatment and admit patients, with support of stroke consultant.

The successful candidate will need to be dynamic, hardworking, exhibit excellent standards in communication and will be expected to lead and deliver high quality evidence based care and treatment. They will need to possess the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

The post holder will be supported in their professional development and will have the opportunity to support and develop others.

They will be part of the stroke specialist team and support with training and clinical supervisory responsibilities. Part of the role will include supporting TIA clinic.

Good leadership and communication skills are essential. Individuals should be flexible and be able to demonstrate they are an excellent role model with the ability to develop excellent interpersonal relationships.
