Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Secretary to join our Administration Team. You must be an enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated individual with a mature responsible and flexible outlook. Previous experience as a secretary with audio-typing skills is essential to this role.

You will work closely with the other Clinical Secretary to provide a central administration base to facilitate the booking of referral appointments with internal departments and staff in hospitals within the Pennine Screening area. Typing from dictation, preparing correspondence to Surgeons, GP's and service users.Entering pre and post assessment data onto the NBSS system following national guidelines, processes and procedures. To attend and prepare data and files for the multi-disciplinary meetings on a weekly basis. Dealing with telephone enquiries from service users wanting to change appointments or request information.We are an integrated Breast Service responsible for both the symptomatic service in the Bradford district and the NHS Breast Screening Programme covering the districts of Airedale, Bradford, Calderdale, Dewsbury and Huddersfield. The service is administered from the dedicated Pennine Mammography Suite at St. Luke's Hospital in Bradford, with 4 mobile units going out into the community and a static unit based at Bradford..

Main duties of the job

Using the NBSS system, following procedures and protocols, enter specific screening data

To attend and prepare data and files for multi-disciplinary meetings (MDM) on a weekly basis entering the appropriate results on the NBSS system and produce the result letters for each service user

Deal with the referral of service users with positive/uncertain results to surgeons, contacting the relevant hospital departments, to book clinical appointments as appropriate

The post monitors referrals, feedback and recurrence from Surgeons and Pathologists and enters the appropriate data on the NBSS system. Assists with the securing of appointments for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary paperwork, images, and clinical information are relayed to the relevant clinicians. Liaise with other internal departments and relevant external staff in hospitals in the Pennine area.
