Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced individual to join bereavement services on a 15 hour contract at band 5, in the role of Senior Bereavement Officer.

Main duties of the job

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a service, dedicated to supporting bereavement services and processes, whilst driving service improvement.

Working under umbrella of Patient Experience, the role will support the existing team in a flexible and adaptive manner.

To be the first point of contact for patients, service users, their families and members of the public in the delivery of Bereavement services at the Trust. The post holder will also be required to take a supportive role on some Trust wide initiatives

Essential

  • Experience of managing a team to deliver an exceptional customer service
  • Recent experience of managing bereavement procedures within the NHS or other similar public body
  • Experience of planning and organising work allocation/delegation to team members to deliver a high quality performance within policy and service timescales
  • Experience of supporting senior management in management of budget expenditure including delivery of annual cost improvement savings.
  • Experience of analysing performance data and for identifying ways in which the service can be improved at a service, team and individual level

Desirable

  • Demonstrate previous involvement in staff recruitment and selection; training and development; managing performance and attendance management.
  • Involvement in the delivery and implementation of service improvements using a range of service improvement and project management techniques.
  • Experience of working in the NHS environment

  • Educated to degree level and/or able to demonstrate equivalent qualification, skills and experience
  • Evidence of on-going personal development
