We are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the General Surgical team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. At BTHFT we recognize that ACPs are an integral part of the NHS workforce in the 21st century as they provide flexibility and new ways of working and we are looking to appoint a Trainee ACP with a passion to providing the highest standard of clinical expertise and autonomous practice.
Main duties of the job
There has been major investment in the ACP workforce at BTHFT to ensure patients are provided with a positive experience when requiring our care. We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic trainee practitioner with a desire to develop exceptional leadership skills and experience working in the gastroenterology setting. They will provide holistic, personalised care and will take pride in caring for our community of Bradford. The trainee ACP will link with members of a fantastic, well established and efficient team of ACPs providing strong leadership to members of the multi-disciplinary team. They will deliver quality care and a faster response to patient needs resulting in better outcomes

The post holder will practice under supervision whilst in clinical placement areas, to provide advanced patientcentred care (within an agreed scope of practice). This will encompass the four pillars of advanced practice and incorporate the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment. They will assist in the safe assessment, management, referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in any area of the clinical placement.
Throughout the training programme the post holder will develop the skills of an autonomous practitioner ensuring that evidence based practice is inherent in as aspects within the General Surgical team.
On completion the practitioner will have demonstrated clinical expertise, competence, confidence and be able to work within an autonomous and defined sphere of practice, maintaining records and in collaboration with healthcare colleagues.
This training programme will equip the post holder with the skills and knowledge to utilise and extend their existing primary field of professional healthcare practice.
