An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Capital Team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Assistant Finance Manager Capital
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our finance team. Working alongside colleagues and service managers you will contribute to the development and implementation of the Trusts extensive capital programme.
Reporting to the Deputy Finance Manager for Capital you will be technically competent, have strong reconciliation skills combined with demonstrable relevant experience of working within a fast-paced accounting environment.
Providing capital and VAT accounting services to the Trusts Divisions, this is a key role supporting the Capital team in the development and maintenance of effective financial management and control systems to maintain the integrity of the Trusts Asset Register.

Main duties of the job
Managing a programme of asset checks that verifies the accuracy of the records held in the Asset Register.
Carry out asset verification exercises to confirm asset existence and location.
Coordinating the approval and payment of capital expenditure relating to the capital programme.
Monitoring of capital expenditure against the agreed capital programme.
Supporting the production of accurate capital expenditure and other capital related reports within agreed deadlines
Implementing VAT guidelines and ensuring the VAT is correctly accounted for on a monthly basis
Preparation of journals to support both month end and annual period close.
Responsibility for the analysis and completion of reconciliations between the Asset Register and the General Ledger
Reconciliation of the asset register pre and post revaluation

- Experience of performing complex financial reconciliations.
- Experience using and interrogating accounting ledger systems and working with a Shared Business Service provider. Must be able to investigate, analyse, interpret and resolve financial queries
