Have you qualified as a midwife within the last 24 months? Are you currently undertaking your preceptorship else where? We currently have vacancy for a band 5 midwife to join our team.

We pride ourselves on our preceptorship package and Pastoral Support Team which includes a Legacy Midwife dedicated to supporting you holistically during your first few years as a qualified midwife. If you have started but not completed your preceptorship we can tailor the support we provide to ensure it is specific to you and your development needs.

We also have a team of dedicated practice educators who are committed to providing an excellent induction programme and opportunities to develop your career in a way that suits your individual career goals.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care as an autonomous practitioner

To facilitate the delivery of care to a defined group of women and assist in implementing individualised midwifery care.

To support women and their families in making informed choices around their care.

To assist in setting, maintaining and improving the standards of midwifery care within the Trust,

To provide and maintain high standards of midwifery practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) The Code: Standards of conduct, performance and ethics for nurses and midwives (2015)

To liaise with and maintain good relationships and communication with midwifery colleagues. To seek advice and support from senior colleagues where appropriate.

To participate in research/evidence based practice.

To enhance clinical skills in all aspects of midwifery. To further own professional development and knowledge. To attend mandatory study days.
