This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, motivated, reliable individual to join this busy team within the Yorkshire Quality & Safety Research Group (www.yqsr.org) based at the Bradford Institute for Health Research, at the Bradford Royal Infirmary.
The department is seeking an outstanding applicant to join our successful and innovative team. The successful candidate will work alongside the Research Support Officer and the Research Administrator to ensure that an efficient and effect administrative support is provided at all times.
The Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group are a multi-disciplinary team comprising of leading academics in the field of patient safety, with backgrounds ranging from nursing and medicine, to psychology and sociology. The team also has well established collaborative links with regional universities (Bradford, Leeds and York) and provides a dynamic working environment.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills; being able to confidently liaise with members of the BIHR, members of the public, academics, clinicians, and safety agencies both locally and nationally. Good time management and organisational skills are essential along with the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. The postholder must be highly motivated and demonstrate a flexible approach to their work.
Candidates will possess experience of working within an office environment with experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
The successful applicant will be a team player and have previous experience of working in a similar role.
The contract will be fixed term for 2 years.

Job responsibilities
The main duties of this post are to support the administrative needs of the researchers and programme managers within the team.
- Support with the planning and organisation of a range of meetings across Quality & Safety including sourcing and booking meeting rooms, arranging hospitality, setting up meeting rooms and confirming arrangements with the appropriate staff. The post-holder will be required undertake note taking as and when required to support the Research Support and the Research Administrator.
- Support the organisation of internal and external workshops and events under the supervision of the Research Support Officer and the Research Administrator to include booking venues, arranging hospitality and support with the dissemination of workshop and event information to delegates. This may include travel to external venues to support the running of these workshops and events.
- Carry out and arrange travel and accommodation requests as required under the supervision of the Research Support Officer.
- Ensure that levels of stationery are maintained and order office equipment and supplies under the supervision of the Research Support Officer.
- Provide general administrative support functions such as photocopying, answering the telephone, transcribing research interviews, updating and maintaining existing databases and meet and greet external visitors.
- Undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the banding of this post.
