The role:The post holder will take a proactive role in supporting the Senior Procurement Team in implementing the Trust's Procurement Strategy. The ideal candidate should enjoy working as part of a team, be motivated, keen to learn, able to influence, conduct strategic tender processes and negotiations, have excellent inter-personnel skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience across Capital, Clinical and Non-Clinical procurement. You must also be results orientated and able to identify further opportunities to support department's savings target and increase contract coverage and compliance throughout the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Procurement Manager "All Categories" (SPM) is a key role within the Trust's Corporate Procurement Service and will provide cross category procurement expertise supporting the Senior Procurement team in ensuring compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations and Standing Financial Instructions, securing Value for Money and achieving financial savings through tendering, supply chain optimisation and supplier relationship management.

The SPM is skilled to a high level in Non-Clinical, Clinical, Capital and general procurement as well as contract management and technical Data/Systems and will support the Deputy Head of Procurement by using their senior cross category expertise to support in all procurement categories as the strategic workplan pipeline requires. The post holder will ensure that all procurement regulations, rules, policies and procedures are complied with and that all stakeholders are engaged in procurement processes.

The post holder will act as a link between the different categories of spend covered by the Corporate Procurement Service to deliver better patient outcomes at a lower overall cost.

  • Previous experience of staff management
