Open to Student Nurses qualifying in 2024 only. (Specific posts for experienced nurses to be advertised at a later date).

If so NICU, Ward 30/32 and Paediatric Accident and Emergency department are jointly recruiting and would love to hear from you.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated newly qualified Children's Nurses to join our Children's Services team. If you are shortlisted for interview you will be asked about your preferred working area from the above listed wards.

Across all of the children's/neonatal areas we provide a comprehensive training and education package for you as you embark upon an exciting career in nursing.

Main duties of the job

Paediatrics

Ward 30/32 has 41 inpatient beds (4 designated for enhanced care) + a 9 bedded assessment & short stay area. We have a busy clinical decisions area on the unit, where initial assessment of the child takes place. We work within a friendly multi- disciplinary team from multiple specialities and disciplines such as surgery and medicine. In addition we have a Paediatric Accident and Emergency area located within the main AED site. Candidates wishing to work in paediatrics will be dedicated to providing high quality nursing care.

NICU

On NICU we care for the sickest, smallest & earliest babies from birth to discharge & pride ourselves on our exceptionally high standards of care.

Accredited as the first NICU in the UK to achieve UNICEF Baby Friendly status we are proud of the parents as partners in care ethos that underpins every aspect of the care we deliver to babies & their families.

Successful NICU applicants we will be provided with:

  • Guaranteed access to CPD in the Yorkshire Neonatal Network's "Foundation Programme"
  • Investment to attend the 10 week programme which will make you a Qualified in Speciality recognised NICU Nurse. (subject to successful completion of foundation programme & meeting attendance / performance targets)
