Job summary
To undertake all cleaning and related duties which includes, general cleaning of Theatres, Wards and departmental areas such as Accident and Emergency, Ear Nose and Throat and the X Ray department and accommodation.
Main duties of the job
To clean specific public areas of the hospital using specialist cleaning equipment and ensuring that the cleaning is undertaken to the required standard of hygiene in accordance with national standards of cleanliness and internal standard operating procedures. This includes entrances, corridors, stairs, Lifts, toilet facilities, ward areas, Theatres, and departments within the hospital.
Lifting and manipulation of cleaning equipment.
To be responsible for the monitoring, recording and reporting of linen stock levels against expected delivered, including the removal of any soiled or damaged linen from stock and storing linen in the correct store area
To be responsible for the monitoring, recording/receipting of cleaning materials and ensuring any shortfalls in delivery are reported to supervision.
Requirement to use specialist equipment and new innovative technologies to support the reduction in hospital acquired infection and maintain high levels of hospital cleanliness
To dispose of waste in accordance with the waste disposal policy
To demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies, Standing Operating Procedures, systems and regulations (eg COSHH) gained through induction and on the job training.
Ensure confidentiality of information is preserved at all time
Such other duties at a comparable level of responsibility, as may normally be agreed with the job holder
