The Restorative Dentistry service is provided exclusively to those patients needing specialised care for acquired or congenital oro-facial defects. Experience of high quality prosthetics, oral defect obturators and specialist implant retained prosthetics including dentures/bridges are an essential requirement. Other essential requirements are also relevant advanced level qualification. Experience of semi precision attachments, complex chrome frameworks would be an advantage, as would a working knowledge of Orthodontic and Maxillofacial Technology.
Main duties of the job
The laboratory service based within the department provides technical support to the Orthodontic, Maxillofacial and Restorative Departments as well as running a Clinical Prosthetics service to local NHS Trust hospitals. The individual will be a good team player and able to communicate effectively with all grades of staff both verbally and written. We work closely with other team members with the common goal of producing dental technical work and problem solving to the highest standards. The successful candidate will have exceptional physical skills and exacting standards to complement sound theoretical knowledge.
Applications will be considered from candidates who are currently studying towards their postgraduate qualification and in their final year of study. If successful at interview the band 6 salary will be eligible on completion of this course; Band 5 will be payable during study.
