Job summary
The post holder will contribute to the co-design, development and implementation of projects and initiatives within the SDE. They will join the team of Practitioners and Researchers based within the Centre for Co-production and Peer Research (CoPPeR) and the SDE Communications Leads to design and implement the Co-production and Community Engagement Strategy for the SDE programme.
They will work closely with community members and voluntary sector partners and statutory organisations in developing and maintaining channels of communication, encouraging active engagement and participation in the SDE and ensuring community ideas and opinions inform the content of the SDE. They will foster collaborations between organisations across the Yorkshire and Humber Region thus building a whole systems approach to ensuring the SDE is acceptable and appropriate to the communities we serve. The post holder will work closely with the Y&H SDE Senior Leadership Team and the SDE Operational Group.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a lead role in advancing patient and public involvement and co-production initiatives associated with the SDE programme across the Y&H region. They will engage partner organisations and members of public in order to gauge views about SDE using a variety of innovative and inclusive methods. They will support the SDE Project Officer with planning and delivery of co-production, community engagement and communication.
The post holder will attend all national PPIE forums connected to SDEs and translate the guidance and best practice into a strategy and workplan which will be operationalised in Y&H. To achieve this it will be necessary to foster trusting relationships with all stakeholders (including the Voluntary and statutory sector partners) and ensure the strategy and workplans align with the Senior Leadership Team's plans in Y&H region.
The postholder will work in a team environment and take management responsibility for the SDE Project Officer. The postholder will travel across Y&H to conduct their work and will occasionally need to attend national meetings and conferences to represent the Y&H SDE.
