This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role as a Senior Research Data Analyst in our successful and supportive team. The Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research Group has been awarded £5.8million to establish the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Research Collaboration (PSRC). We will, with our university partners, deliver research within four innovative themes:
- Safer Systems, Culture and Practice
- De-cluttering (safely) for safety
- Supporting safe care in the home
- Rethinking safety intelligence for improvement
You will be hosted within the Rethinking safety intelligence for improvement theme, reporting to the theme lead. You will have a senior role in developing, designing and delivering projects that use large and/or linked datasets to address patient safety research questions with a particular focus on safety inequity in health and social care services.
You will collaborate on projects with members of your theme and with researchers in the other themes, as well as with patients and members of the public, NHS staff and researchers in the other PSRC and different NIHR research organisations. You will work closely with the Safety Equity Research Fellow within our team to deliver projects that use existing health and social care data routinely collected by organisations, regional and national bodies.

The Yorkshire Quality & Safety Research Group:
The PSRC continues the work of the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Translational Research Centre www.yhpstrc.org and will be hosted within the Yorkshire Quality and Safety Research group https://yqsr.org. This successful group of researchers has established a national and international reputation for working collaboratively across institutions and disciplines. It comprises researchers and leading academics from the Universities of Leeds, York and Bradford teamed with clinicians and managers from the Yorkshire and Humber health community, with the ultimate aim of making a real impact on the way health services are delivered.

- Proven experience of analysing quantitative data to publishable standards
- Experience in the management and analysis of complex data, including data security, confidentiality and ethical permissions required within NHS
- Project management experience: keeping to timelines, managing risks.
- Ability to identify and develop suitable approaches for the collection, structuring and analysis of data across a range of health services research projects
- Experience of successfully working collaboratively on research projects.
- At least 2 years postdoctoral or equivalent level experience of organising and conducting applied health services research.
- Experience of liaising with a range of research stakeholders and users in the conduct and dissemination of research (examples might include: patients, the public, health care professionals, NHS organisations, charities, special interest groups, technology developers, etc).
- Experience of ensuring the validity, reliability and utility of data at all times, including working with health service organisations, data providers and research teams to facilitate data access, link data sources and ensure accuracy.

- Experience of patient and public involvement in research.
- Experience of lead authoring peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience of managing and/or mentoring more junior staff.
