Cardiology Matron
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motived and dynamic leader to apply for the post of Cardiology Matron. The successful candidate with be responsible for providing direct leadership and supporting to areas including but not exclusively;
- Ward 22 - an 18 bedded cardiology ward and a 6 bedded Coronary Care Unit
- The Cardiology Day Case Unit
- The Chest Pain Specialist Nurses
- The Refractory Angina Specialist Nursing Team
- The Heart Failure Specialist Nursing Team
- The Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Specialist Nursing Team
- The Refractory Angina Specialist Nursing Team
- The Syncope Specialist Nursing Team
You should be a registered nurse with senior leadership experience who is passionate about high quality patient care. You should have experience of clinical governance frameworks and service improvement projects. You will be expected to be based at Bradford Royal Infirmary and work as a senior nurse as part of the Specialist Medicine Clinical Services Unit alongside fellow Matrons and reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Nursing.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have responsibility for:
Using strong clinical leadership and effective management, to support the Ward and Departmental Senior Sisters / Senior Charge Nurses to promote and deliver excellence in nursing and midwifery care maintaining and continually improving clinical standards evidenced by achievement of key quality performance indicators.
Operational nursing lead for the development, implementation and evaluation of care on ward 22 and undertaken by the specialist nursing teams.
The Matrons key responsibility is to ensure that the patient experience is of the highest quality inspiring patient and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility and surveillance.
The jobholder will ensure that all patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect placing value on diversity of the local community and beyond. They will promote best practice in the prevention of infection through ensuring a clean and safe environment.
To have local open and transparent communication channels that support the ward team to do the right thing for people we care for, to be bold when they have good ideas and speak up when things go wrong to ensure learning and quality improvement.
