Apprentice Associate Audiologist

Job summary

As an apprentice Associate Audiologist you will be expected to undertake academic and clinical training in order to be successfully awarded a Level 5 Audiology qualification

Academic training will be undertaken utilising an appropriate education provider over a period of 2 years. Clinical training will be delivered by appropriately qualified Audiologists within the Audiology department. Your training and development will be delivered through direct and in-direct supervision with agreed achievements and outcomes.

Upon completion of your training, you will work under indirect supervision to undertake non-complex and routine aspects of the Adult Audiology service. This includes performing clinical skills in areas of hearing assessment and rehabilitation within the Adult Audiology Service. You will work within locally and nationally established policies, quality standards and codes of practice.

Main duties of the job

The primary focus of this role is to participate in the provision of an effective and high quality Audiology Service. This involves undertaking a range of activities where there is a requirement to have knowledge of the procedure / activity, and due to the nature of the activity being undertaken, a requirement to have a knowledge of how to deal with related non-routine activities, such as dealing with complications, answering questions, or monitoring progress during/following the procedure / activity.

The post holder will need to be highly organised, able to work without direct supervision, and be an excellent communicator, with the ability to support the team in the day to day operation of the services they

provide.
