Job summary

The neonatal governance nurse will work with the neonatal senior management team to manage and coordinate all aspects of clinical risk, governance and improve 'Badgernet' data quality. The post holder will work with the team to develop, implement, monitor, review and embed strategies and frameworks to underpin the principles of clinical governance in Neonatal Services; this will include effectively managing clinical risks.

The neonatal governance nurse will work collaboratively with the Children's CSU MDT and work within the risk management framework of the Trust to develop establish and maintain risk management systems. The successful candidate will lead and be responsible for developing robust systems which recognise report, analyse, evaluate and minimise the risks to staff, patients, visitors and the organisation.

The post holder will support the management of incidents, serious incident and formal internal investigations, promotes good practice in risk management and provide advice on the protection of patients, staff, visitors and the Trust's assets. A key role is to ensure that the organisation learns lessons from incidents, external reviews and inquests to support improvements in the safety and quality of care. The post holder will support the production and effectiveness of the risk register.
