Job summary
Applications are invited for a Speciality Doctor in Neonates (Tier 2) at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. This is a Tertiary Neonatal post primarily delivering inpatient clinical care. It is a permanent post for up to 22 hours per week. The post-holder's duties and responsibilities will be equivalent to that of a Tier 2 doctor in Neonatology. Although this is not a training post, the post-holder will be given the opportunity to develop specific skills that align with the individual's interest and the needs of the service.
MRCPH membership is required and the candidate must be able to show evidence of achieving at least ST3 competencies. The candidate must also have sufficient experience (minimum 18 months) working in Neonatal Intensive Care at ST4-8 level (or above). The successful candidate will work on the full shift Tier 2 rota. Out of hours work is part of the role (evening, weekends and nights) and a degree of flexibility will be required.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder's duties and responsibilities will be equivalent to that of a Tier 2 / Registrar-Level Doctor in Neonatology. This includes attending deliveries, assessment and management of preterm and term babies and antenatal and postnatal counselling of families.
The post holder will play an important role in a multi-disciplinary clinical team with an appropriate level of Consultant support.
There are no General Paediatric or Outpatient responsibilities. Although this is not a training post, the post holder will be given the opportunity to develop specific skills that align with the individual's interest and the needs of the service, as well as support with further career development.
