We have an exciting opportunity in our Nutrition & Dietetic Department administration team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill this role, providing administration, secretarial and systems support as part of our highly valued Dietetic Administration team including to the Acute and Paediatric Dietitians and Service managers based at BRI.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have a positive "can-do" approach, be able to work on their own initiative and take direction as appropriate, excellent organisational, IT and communication skills both face to face and on the telephone. You will be confident, enthusiastic and eager to learn with experience of working in a very busy environment and dealing with conflicting demands. You will be an excellent team player and able to work well and flexibly in a busy and developing administration support team and dietetic service
You will be expected to liaise on a day to day basis with GP's, patients, healthcare professionals, clinicians, and other support staff in relation to advertising and promoting events, preparing and collating educational material. You will have the ability to develop and use Excel Spreadsheets, understand and work with data from patient databases to provide data reports, scheduling and managing waiting lists within this busy clinical department. An eye for detail in presenting, proof reading and managing our education resources to required standards is essential.

Job responsibilities
You will be required to provide a high level of administrative and secretarial support to both the paediatric and acute teams within the Dietetics department at St Lukes Hospital and Bradford Royal Infirmary. You will need to be proficient in excel spreadsheets in order to maintain existing and future data collection this will include developing new spreadsheets as the service grows, have the ability to recognise the need for analysing and collecting data and be able to initiate and promote new electronic systems to benefit the service
The post will require an ability to prioritise workloads effectively, work under minimal supervision, use own initiative and identify and promote administration and organisational developments as the service demands.
An ability to liaise effectively with others external to the department is essential and this will require a high level of communication skill and confidence to promote relationships with team members, GPs, schools, other healthcare organisations, staff and patients.
As part of the teams you will be responsible for registering patients and updating records on the relevant electronic systems, e.g. Systmone, Electronic Patient Record and Clinical Manager, helping team members with ideas to develop new systems, managing requests from other colleagues, answer a busy phone line, using online booking systems and have good all round administration experience.
