UPTO 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic Community Outreach and Recruitment Assistant to take a key role in the promotion and recruitment of Born in Bradford research studies in pregnancy and the early years. This will include taking a lead role in engaging families from Central and Eastern European countries into the Born in Bradford's Better Start (BiBBS) birth cohort study (www.borninbradford.nhs.uk).

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an initiative which will have real impact for families in Bradford. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Better Start Bradford aims to help children in three wards of the city, Little Horton, Bowling and Barkerend, and Bradford Moor, to get the best start in life. They provide more than 20 projects for pregnant women and families with children aged 0-3 years. The Better Start Bradford Innovation Hub, part of Born in Bradford leads on the evaluations of all projects to find out the best ways to improve the social and emotional development, communication and language development, and health and nutrition of young children. Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of day to day running of the BiBBS study, including recruiting families by working alongside antenatal clinic at Bradford Royal Infirmary, arranging and undertaking interviews at families' homes and by phone; and collecting data and samples.

The post holder will play a key role in the engagement of families from Central and Eastern European communities with Born in Bradford projects, particularly focusing on recruitment into the BiBBS study. The post holder will need to have experience of working with families in the community and be able to speak one or more common Central and Eastern European language. You will be organised and able to work under your own initiative to meet tight deadlines as well as having an approachable and friendly manner. The post is fixed term until Dec 2023. We are happy to consider part time hours and job sharing for this post.
