We have the exciting opportunity to offer x3 37.5 hour Band 6 posts within the Inpatient respiratory physiotherapy team at Torbay hospital. One of the post will be supporting the pulmonary rehab service and the providing Physiotherapy outpatient respiratory clinics within airways clearance and breathing pattern disorders.

These posts work within a team of Physiotherapists that provide Physiotherapy services to ICU Medical wards, Surgical wards and Paediatrics, Respiratory clinics and Pulmonary rehab

Main duties of the job

You will work within the inpatient Physiotherapy Team At Torbay Hospital. You will be part of the 7 day service, working at the weekend once a month. You will be part of the on-call service and support band 5's that are on-call. You will work over a variety of rotations: ICU, Medical respiratory, Surgical Respiratory Paediatrics, Pulmonary Rehab and Respiratory Clinics. You will provide senior leadership to their specialist area and deputise for the Band 7 when required. You will provide respiratory care in clinics, for outpatients and home-visits.

Act as a source of expertise on the assessment and management of patients presenting with a wide range of respiratory pathologies. They will provide education to physiotherapists, student physiotherapists, skilled non registered staff, other healthcare professionals, GPs, Consultants, patients and their carers.

Work with the MDT in identifying appropriate physiotherapy treatments and managements. Work closely with both the OT's and discharge coordinators in facilitating appropriate patient discharge plans. To utilise all current discharge services and planning procedures

Educate and train physiotherapists, students and other healthcare professionals in the physiotherapeutic management of chronic and acute respiratory conditions
