Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated full time Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist .

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist ready to begin your professional journey? We are delighted to offer a Band 4-5 development role, designed specifically for individuals who have completed their SLT degree and are awaiting HCPC registration.

This is an excellent opportunity to start working clinically while being fully supported to transition into a Band 5 role as soon as your registration is confirmed.

You will join our friendly and experienced team, working within ECD. As a Band 4, you will work under the supervision of qualified SLTs, gradually building your confidence and clinical skills. Once your HCPC registration is complete, you will progress to a Band 5 post and take on a more autonomous caseload.

We offer a structured induction, regular supervision, and a personalised development plan to ensure you feel supported every step of the way.

Main duties of the job

The ECD pathway is Countywide and covers Devon and Torbay. This post will have a base in Exeter.

Everyone in the team is provided with regular supervision, opportunities for training and development.

Main duties will be:

o The provision of a speech and language therapy service of assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of speech, language and communication, as part of the MDT.o To provide appropriate communication intervention and evaluate outcomes.o To provide advice and training to parents and carers, early years and school staff and other professionals on matters relating to the speech, language and communication needs of individual children and young people.o To set up and monitor programmes to be carried out by other key workers.o To write reports reflecting specialist knowledge, and discuss your assessment and intervention within MDT meetings

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - including observation, listening and empathy skills
