Dispensary Operation Manager

Job summary

SDH Developments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides pharmacy services to patients and visitors attending the Outpatients Department at Torbay Hospital. These services continue to develop, and we are now looking for a Dispensary operations manager who is already a qualified accuracy checking technician to join our team.

In this role you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Outpatients pharmacy at Torbay hospital, reporting directly to the superintendent pharmacist. This will include organisation of staffing rotas, leading, motivating and guiding the dispensary team to ensure all operational tasks are completed, supporting the team to deliver first class patient service. As an Accuracy Checking Technicians you will also be required to undertake a final accuracy check on prescriptions to support with the checking rota.

You will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills, and be an effective team player.

Main duties of the job

  • As a dispensary operations manager you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Outpatients pharmacy at Torbay hospital, reporting directly to the superintendent pharmacist.
  • This will include organisation of staffing rotas, leading, motivating and guiding the dispensary team to ensure all operational tasks are completed, supporting the team to deliver first class patient service.
  • You will also be required to support with the line management of the dispensary team and deputise for the superintendent at meetings if necessary.
  • As an Accuracy Checking Technicians you will also be required to undertake a final accuracy check on prescriptions to support with the checking rota.
